Children’s Dentistry

Good dental habits start young. We recommend bringing your child within 6 months after their first tooth appears. This allows the little ones to familiarise themselves with us and the dental clinic and we can work on building trust early on.

Dr Pradani has also written a blog post about how to approach dental kids and their first dental visit here -> Children & Dentists. There are also links to resources such as books that you can read to your kids in the lead up to their visit that should help them understand why seeing a dentist is important and to do that in a fun and encouraging way.

We bulk bill for all eligible services under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) for children aged up to 17 years. Be sure to call Medicare to find out if your child is eligible or give us a call if you have any questions on eligibility. Also read our blog post on CDBS eligibility.

Fissure Sealants for Kids

As children start to get their adult teeth come through, we want to ensure these second sets of teeth last a long time.

The adult molars tend to have deep grooves where food can get trapped leading to decay. Due to the shape of these fissures they can be difficult to clean, especially for children. A good way to prevent fissure decay is to place a sealant over the grooves as a simple and conservative treatment. This requires no anaesthetic and is a very quick and painless procedure.
